Fat Burning Foods

Are there any foods that burn body fat? If yes, how is it possible? It should be possible to lose weight by simply eating such foods. What are these foods?

The fat burning foods are foods that burn more calories than the calorie content of the foods itself. There are certain foods which actually burn more fat than the calorie content of the food itself. These fat burning foods or so called negative calorie foods are natural plant foods.

Fruits rich in vitamin C like limes, lemons, oranges, grapefruit and tangerines have fat burning properties. Some of the other fat burning foods are asparagus, beet root, broccoli, cabbage, carrot, apple, blueberries, and watermelon. It you eat these fat burning foods and do some exercise, it will boost your metabolism and burn calories at a faster rate for several hours even after exercise.

A recent research reports that calcium in dairy products can boost weight loss by increasing fat breakdown in fat cells. If you compare a dairy-rich versus a dairy-poor diet you can nearly double the rate of weight and fat loss with the same level of calorie restriction.

Not eating enough will slow your metabolism and deteriorating your health. Note that in order to lose weight you have to burn more calories than you consume. This can be done by eating negative calorie foods. This will help your body burning up the excessive stored fat.

Kriya, a Spiritual Yoga Experience

People seeking a deeper spiritual meaning in their lives have found Kriya yoga. Yogananda brought Kriya yoga to the West in the 1920's. He established the Self-Realization fellowship as a total yoga experience that addressed the spiritual as well as the physical, all most other western yoga disciplines concentrate on.

A Kriya yogi, as described by Yogananda, mentally moves his life energy around the six spinal centers - the medullar, dorsal, lumbar, coccygeal, cervical, and sacral plexuses. These each relate to the twelve zodiac signs. This subtle energy revolution progresses his evolution, and it is said that this 30 seconds of Kriya is equivalent to a year of natural spiritual growth.

Kriya yoga is based on Kundalina yoga and includes similar asana and meditation methods. Kriya adds some spiritual and esoteric guidelines. It does have its detractors that point out Kriya does not maintain your power comes from within, but that you need a teacher, or guru, to release your spirituality. Although it sounds like an admirable goal, Kriya's attempt to eliminate obstacles begs the question, are the obstacles there for a reason? Is the guru the right person to decide how and when to remove them? It is very important to go into Kriya yoga with a strong sense of self. Never allow another to hijack your self-determination!

Advocates of Kriya yoga believe they can achieve self-realization faster by combining three other yoga methods:

1. Karma yoga is concentrated on the movement of the soul, both out in the world and the inner actions of the mind.

2. Bhakti yoga aims to achieve peace with all the elements of your life through the power of love. It is often stated as "oneness with all creation and cosmic consciousness."

3. Jnana yoga is concerned with intellectual discipline leading to wisdom gained from spiritual knowledge giving freedom of the mind.

Thus, Kriya joins the three into a single discipline. It highlights the relationship between breath and mind. Breath control is self control. Breath mastery is self mastery.

Preparation is the first step in Kriya yoga. The body is prepared with a Hatha yoga exercise routine. For beginners or the less flexible, other alternative preparation routines are provided.

Mind preparation comes next. Here you focus your mind by studying general conduct, analyzing your overall health, cleanliness and purity. You may even study your relationship to certain metaphysical principles. These reflective studies help to prepare the mind for later techniques intended to refine and improve the nervous system.

Mantras are taught in Kriya meditation in order to tune the mind and body to a single frequency. Again, the detractors point out, one must be careful that YOU are the chooser of the destination and your mind isn't being controlled by another, even a trusted other.

Although one of a handful of more controversial yoga paths, Kriya yoga has helped many attain spiritual levels they couldn't quite reach with other methods. It may be right for you, but go into it with your eyes open and your protection activated.

Golf Ball Reviews - For Golfers Wth Good Views

Whether you are a beginner at golf or a professional, you will want the golf ball that suits you and your game best. You will also want to get the best golf ball for your money. This is where golf ball reviews come in handy as a reference tool.

Don't allow yourself to be swayed by what you see your friends or fellow golfers using. first, they may have been golfing longer than you have. Secondly, they may have an entirely different technique than what you have. There are many good golf ball reviews online, in magazines or stores that will be very helpful. It is wise to remember that the most expensive balls may not be what you need. The top-of-the-line name brands that you read about may not be the best for you either. More expensive is not always best- just more expensive.

Golf balls consist of two major types: wound or solid. The wound balls are the conventional balls that have been around for years. The solid ball came into play in the 1980's. Originally, golfers were of the opinion that the solid golf balls offered little control of spin and performed poorly in general. They were used to the wound ball. Technology has now advanced to where golf ball reviews will show the increased popularity and use of solid balls.

Beyond the two basis types, there are one piece, two-piece and three-piece balls. The one piece, made of Surlyn with dimples, is the basic ball for on the driving range or just starting out. You won't get much distance, but they are very durable and inexpensive, which makes them great for practicing. Two-piece balls have the core and a strong covering. Due to the high restitution covering, you will get great distance and durability. Manufacturers are now able to make them "softer" which contributes to greater control. Golf ball reviews have shown that these are very popular for the every day golfer on the course.

Three-piece balls, wound with a liquid center or solid, allow the more experienced golfer the control he wants. The backspin is very good and there is good distance and height. These are more for the experienced golfer who is able to "control" his shots with spin and distance.

There are also four-piece balls, but they are new on the market. They are made of a soft Urethane, are durable and great for distance.

You will be able to choose if you are looking for spin or feel golf balls. Golf ball reviews will help you decide which ball is right for you. Low spin golf balls will lessen the amount of side spin when you shoot, therefore the ball will go straighter in the air. It may not go as far in the air as you"d like, but with less spin it will roll more when it hits the ground. This is a good ball for player that is unable to get a long drive. A mid spin golf balls is the ball most suitable for all players. It combines both distance and feel. high spin golf balls are made to increase the spin when it"s in the air and go farther. They are used a lot by golfers that hit right to left with a draw.

Firm feel golf balls are used for distance, and will feel hard when hit. They are used if distance is more important than spinning onto the green. It's a very durable ball and will go many rounds. Mid feel golf balls act similar to the mid spinning ball in that it is the most suitable for all players. It combines distance with being easily controlled on the green. Soft feel golf balls are balls used by many professional golfers that are able to use spin on short shots. It is not a ball for beginners. It is easily nicked or damaged due to the soft cover.

The Nintendo Wii is NOT the Game Cube

As nintendo chief Miyamoto says about the Wii

The hardware is basically a GC. Weve upgraded our development tools to new versions but, you can still use GC programs as they are. With that in mind, I thought we could remake GC titles for the Wii and modify them to work with the Wii remote so that theyre more fun to play.

This statement been making its speedy journey around the web, with the predictable result.

i tuld u tha Wee sux0rs! Thus proving the Wii is infact.. a repackaged gamecube Rofl @ Nintendo

The argument need to be split in half to avoid confusion. Lumping the two arguments together ends in a negative situation, where neither of the debating parties can influence the opposition.

Firstly, The Wii is gamecube 1.5?

Miyamoto, in his cute little Wish we had an international auxillary language to stop english speaking l33t gamers from mocking our consumers way, was accurate with his statement. The hardware is similar to the gamecube. WAIT! Dont go running away just yet, for here is a word equation that will float your boat.

The nintendo Wii hardware is similar to the gamecube, as A gaming PC is similar to a Windows 95 word processing computer.

What! Says you, but my uber el33tzo0r gaming PC has 4 GB of Ram! It has 6.7 Gigahertz of processing power! THINK. Instead of thinking about the technological specifics of hardware capabilities, when the above statement is made, one is referring to the style in which hardware and software are created. The Architecture of the device.

Going out on another tangent, nintendo would not be stupid enough to make the gamecube mistake again. The GC was not a high point for flailing nintendo. Why now, riding on the success of the nintendo DS, an innovative handheld device that has taken the world by storm, would nintendo choose to release an updated version of a failure?

Wii Vs Xbox360 Vs Playstation3

To be blatantly honest, the next-gen console battle will be fought between the Xbox360, and the Playstation3. Unfortunately for Sony and Microsoft, they have launched products capable of the same types of activities, with the same types of controls and the same types of games. Its a marketing battle to see who will triumph. But for those looking for new, innovative [ie: Not BluRay] technology with an element of fun and a totally unique experience will choose the Wii. There is nothing else on the market to compete with it.

So who would buy the Wii? just little kids right? nintendo has many different demographics to target. From the very young, to the very old. The DS has opened the eyes of previously video game free generations, and inspired those just entering the market, as well as gameboy fans looking for a quality handheld. Half-core gamers want something fresh. they want to play with their friends and have fun. They dont want to shell out big bucks for a gaming system, but would be happy to pay a much lower price for entertainment.

You can not compare consoles on specifications alone. You must use implementation examples to compare things. On paper, the Playstation 3 is the strongest console. Better than the Wii, better than the Xbox360. But does it have quality games? Will there be many games? Will Sony finally be able to create a game that creates a third of the hype that halo does? Until all consoles have been released internationally, it is futile to argue over which console is superior and which will succeed.

The nintendo Wii is not a game Cube. As the old saying goes, its like comparing apples and oranges. Both are in the same general class, yet there are fundamental differences that make comparing them pointless.

3 Simple Golf Practice Steps To An Effective Golf Game

Without constant practice, you cannot expect your golf game to get better over time. Even with the help of lessons, instructional videos and other aids that you purchase, you cannot get better without consistent and efficient practice. You need to practice consistently because with every practice session, your body goes through a series of exercises that help develop muscle memory. Also, you need to practice efficiently because it is important that you learn to pace your energy through the different kinds of exercises.

Although this advice sounds simple enough, many tend to overlook it. It's tempting to go straight and tee-off as soon as you get to the golf course. Many golfers, even the pros are guilty of that too. This is simply because there are many golfers out there think that their score will improve as long as they spend enough time practicing at the practice range or even worst, on the course.

This could not be further from the truth. In order to play a better game of golf, it is vital that you hold regular and disciplined practice sessions, the way that you would treat your golf game.

Instead of thinking how boring practice sessions can get, do remember that it is with constant practice that you are able to develop better playing habits when you next play a round of golf. Also, it would help you to think of practice sessions as a fun part of learning and not look at is as a heavy burden or a chore .If you think practice sessions are fun, you would naturally play better and have more enjoyment in the game.

You practice sessions are generally divided into three parts. They are the:
- warming up stage
- fresh stage
- fatigued stage

In each of these stages, you will be doing different sets of activities, and when they are carried out in the right stages, they will effectively get you the results that you want and this can be seen when you are out playing golf with your friends.

The Warming Up Stage

Many people have the misconception that golf is an easy game that doesn't require any physical activities, as it only involves walking and swinging. Again, this is wrong. Even when you are swinging your golf clubs, you use your muscle groups to move and work in ways that you normally don't in your everyday routine.

This means that when you play golf you can expect to have your arms, torso, and lower back muscles to work hard. This shows that it is very important for you to first go through some stretching activities for warming up. You should start from the top of your head and work down towards your feet.

Remember that what you want is to get your muscles to move in full range and to achieve flexibility. Should you be unfamiliar with stretching activities, do consult your trainer or instructor at your club for some advice.

The Fresh Stage

Right after warming up, you could start practicing exercises that help build on a certain golfing skill which you would like to master. On the other hand you could work on parts of your game that you think needs the most work. These could include driving, chipping or putting.

The aim is of course to work on your techniques and skills while you're still fresh and flexible from a good stretching exercise during the warming up stage as your body will be able to respond in a more positive manner to whatever exercise that you are practicing.

Some people have the wrong idea about practice sessions. They think that golf practice means spending time on a golfing range. Why would you want to work on your driving, unless that is the area that you would most want to improve? If you think your putting needs serious practice, then by all means, work on your putting as soon as you've warmed up. (By the way, it has been noted that almost 60% of a golfer's strokes take place on the golf green. However, this is not considered by many golfers, which result in poor ineffective golfing habits).

The Fatigued Stage

Once you get a bit tired or breathless from all the earlier exercises, you can move on to other parts of your game that needs minor practice. As your body is already familiar with this facet of the game, you only need to reinforce and maintain this technique.

Should you require any correction to your technique, your already stressed body will not be too pressured in trying to master a particularly difficult skill. As stated in the example above, only after you have done enough practice on your putting should you move on to the driving range reinforce and maintain your drives.

Last but not least, take note of these suggestions and observations when you are practicing next.

In order to get continuous and consistent improvement, do remember that a good practice to play ratio is about 2:1. This means that you have to spend twice as much time at practice as to the amount of time spent playing.

On the other hand, remember to get sufficient rest in between your exercises and also in between the various stages. Even though it is considered as a work out, you should not exert yourself to the point of panting and gasping. That would not bring any good but will bring even more harm to you.

Your golf game should improve as your practice sessions get more disciplined and more organised. Remember to be consistent and to note the results of all your exercises so that you can improve your golf game one stroke at a time.

Tropical Hurricane Beta or Alpha

hurricane Beta is beating down on Nicaragua and some meteorologists are predicting a worse case scenario could leave 25 inches of rain in the country. Can you even imagine that level of rain and flooding? Nicaragua could take an upper mid center hit from the eye wall landfall of a Category II or III hurricane Beta as it strikes the shore. What is most alarming is that Nicaragua has some huge mountains, which are 4,000 to 5,000 feet above the ground meaning the remnants of Beta as it winds back down could stay and circulate bringing even more rain for weeks, especially if other tropical storms fill up the caribbean.

We know from watching these tropical storms and hurricanes that the biggest killer is not the winds themselves but the shear size and precipitation from the storms, as they cause flooding drowning their victims. hurricane Wilma dropped lots of water on the already water logged and saturated country not more than 7 days ago and now hurricane Beta will deluge the country to the point of flooding out all areas on the Western shores and up into the mountains. There will be huge mudslides and many deaths from hurricane Beta and it could be a bigger killer than even hurricane stan, whose remnants flooded out and killed 3500 people. Burying whole villages in mudslides, which were later deemed mass graves and cemeteries, rather than trying to dig out all the bodies. hurricane Beta is a deadly and dangerous storm, which will devastate and destroy in the next week. Think on this.

The Direct TV Versus Dish Network Dilemma

Eenie meenie, miney mo - to which satellite TV service shall I go? Choosing between Direct TV (it is really called Directv) and the Dish Network is like deciding which political party is more corrupt than the other. It is all a matter of your perception of the programming and preference. Is one really better than the other? not really. They even have similar marketing promotions like a free satellite TV system when you purchase their satellite TV receiver or buy a certain programming package.

If you go by the number of customers alone, Directv would the outstanding choice. However, that is not necessarily true. They just have a lot more money to spend on advertising. How about price? Should you go by price alone to decide on a satellite dish network or a Direct satellite TV? The answer is no. Each of these satellite TV providers offers something a little different, which could make or break the choice, depending on preference. There is that pesky 'preference' thing again!

first of all, let us look at what they both have in common. Both companies present similar deals like free installation or a free satellite TV system. When it comes to movie and local television programming, the pricing is practically the same. Both the Dish Network and Direct TV offer DVR or digital video recording. With your Direct satellite TV however, you could upgrade to the Directv Tivo option for a nominal fee.

The differentiation is in the programming offered to subscribers. If you are aiming for a more international flavor, then the Dish Network would be your best bet. They have networks available in foreign markets that are broadcast in a variety of languages. So if you have transplanted yourself in the united States from somewhere else, chances are you might be able to catch the news and other shows from your homeland. Direct TV does have some foreign programming, mostly on the movie channels, but not the scope that the Dish Network offers.

Now, Directv subscribers have a plethora of options when it comes to american sports. football, baseball, hockey, NASCAR ... these are important to sports fans. When the major sports have play-offs like the nfl or NBA, you can count on those rabid sports fans purchasing a 'pass' which buys a whole block of games. The Dish Network does offer sports, but they are more global in their choices. You will likely find rugby, lacrosse and soccer just as much as the football or baseball. They just don't have as much of a selection. So, if sports are your thing, then going for a Directv dish and satellite system is the best choice for you.

Now you have a perspective from both sides of the two major satellite TV service providers. Both offer similar programming. It is choosing the little things that will influence your decision. Think about the Directv Tivo option. Think about the future possibility of Directv HDTV. If having these things in the future is important, then perhaps your mind is already made up, unlike that decision about which political party is more corrupt ...

How To Put Backspin on a Ball

We all love it when we hit that shot that draws back quickly 5-10 feet after landing like it was on a string, right?

Well, putting backspin on a ball isnt easy. You need the proper technique and the right conditions to do it. You also need the right ball. I cover backspin in my golf lessons, and once you know how, youll start hitting it closer to that difficult pin placements.

putting backspin on a golf ball is like putting backspin on a cue ball. To do that you hit downward on the bottom half of the cue ball with significant force. putting chalk on the sticks tip, striking the ball at a steep angle, and increasing the velocity of the cue stick as it moves toward impact also helps.

To put backspin on a golf ball, as I explain in my golf tips, you do basically the same thing. But here, the goal is to pinch the ball between the club and the fairway. You not only need to hit downward on the ball with a fair amount of force, you also must make clean contact on the lower portion of the ball. Its essential to have a clean (or new) club with some grip left on its face and a new ball when putting backspin on a ball.

The combination of all these factorsangle of attack, force, and clean contactputs backspin on the ball. Coordinating all these factors in your swing is why it takes several golf lessons to learn.

You also need certain conditions to do it. Below are the three conditions you need before hitting the shot. If these factors are missing, forget about putting backspin on the ball.

Conditions must be fairly dry
You must be on the fairway
Greens have to be in good shape

I use backspin when I need to hit a pitch-and-stop shot. This type of shot is best used from about 25 to 30 yards away when you have an obstacle bunker, water, rough, rocks between you and the green.

Obviously, you cant hit the ball on the ground or on a line, like a line drive in baseball. You need to hit a high shot over the obstacle. If you put enough backspin on the ball, it takes a bounce or two and stops.

Ideally, youd like to hit the green about 10 to 15 feet from the pin and stop the ball a few feet from the hole, leaving you a short putt. Of course, if it goes in, thats even better. If you fail to put enough backspin on the ball, however, it probably will roll off the green, especially if it is slanted or hard-baked.

I recommend using a 9 iron or, better yet, a pitching wedge in my golf tips. The wedge has a high loft, is heavy, and a large flange, which prevents it from digging into the turf. The divot need not be big or deep. Remember to keep your head down until your right arm pushes it upa fundamental all good golf instruction emphasizes.

I use a high spin/soft cover ball for pitch-and-stop shots and I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn the shot. A brief golf lesson on balls explains why.

Golf balls are available with three types of spin. The low spinning golf ball helps eliminate sidespin, which in turn helps reduce the big slice or hook. It doesnt carry as far as the other types, but it makes up for it with roll. This ball is appropriate for players with high golf handicaps.

The mid-spinning ball fills in the gap between low and high spin balls. It provides more feel than the low spin ball, but doesnt roll as far, although it travels fairly far. The mid-spin ball also varies depending on the manufacturer. It is better suited for golfers with mid-range golf handicaps.

The high spinning ball gets more carry than the other types of balls, but it wont roll far when it hits the ground. This ball offers more feel and control, however, than a mid-spin ball, a big advantage around the greens. Its the added spin that provides the increased control for the player. Its the type of ball players with low golf handicaps often use.

My golf instruction teaches students to use the ball thats right for them. If theyre beginners, for example, I recommend a ball with low spin. I also teach students how to put backspin on the ball in my golf lessons, but I emphasize that the conditions on the course must be right for them to try it. Nevertheless, its a potent weapon.

practice improves your ability to put backspin on a golf ball, but keep in mind that the shot is one of the hardest to master in golf so dont spend the majority of your practice time trying to master this shot.
